Designer Profile: Brazilian Bezel

1.How would you describe your line or collection?
I WOULD DESCRIBE BB AS SWIMWEAR FOR WOMEN WHO LIKE TO STAND OUT ON THE BEACH OR POOLSIDE. BB IS FRESH, IT'S CLASSY, ITS SEXY, ITS FULL OF PERSONALITY. ITS FOR THE WOMAN WHO KNOWS QUALITY, HAS EXCEPTIONAL TASTE, AND PURCHASES WHAT SHE WANTS!!

2.What is your inspiration when you are designing?

MY SUMMER 09' COLLECTIONS ARE INSPIRED BY BRAZILIAN STYLE SWIM SUITS AND BATHING SUITS FROM THE 1940'S. OUR BEJEWELED COLLECTION IS SEXY YET TASTEFUL AND ADORNED WITH JEWELS, SHELLS, AND BEADING'S TO GIVE IT A GLAMOROUS FLARE. I GIVE THE PIN UP LOOK A FUTURISTIC TWIST IN PIECES FROM OUR ISLAND COLLECTION. THE CORSET STYLE SWIMSUIT CREATES A FLATTERING FIGURE AND GIVES MORE SUPPORT, NOT TO MENTION IT EMBODIES THE CLASSIC BEAUTY OF SWIM WEAR.

3.Who influences you the most as a designer?

NO SINGLE DESIGNER INFLUENCES ME MORE THAN THE OTHER, I ADMIRE TRACEY REESE, ROBERTO CAVALLI, ZAC POSEN, NICOLE MILLER, VERA WANG AND THE LIST GOES ON. IF I WOKE UP ONE DAY AND DECIDED TO DESIGN CLOTHING MY LINE WOULD REFLECT ALL OF THE ABOVE..

4.Where do you see or think your line or business will be in the next five years?

Brazilian Bezel is swim couture. We model ourselves after top swim designers such as Eres and Norma Komali who have been in the business of selling exclusive swim wear for years. We pride ourselves in creating suits to flatter bodily curves, creating designs that will not go out of style and quality that will not fade. Our goals are limitless. We plan to become an international brand within the next 5 years; Be featured in popular syndicated television shows while reaching the heights of sports illustrated magazine. Brazilian Bezel posses the experience and knowledge to gain exposure and create a demand that will potentially allow us to become a household name.

5.How has the current economic crisis effected your designing and your pricing?
We believe in our product and understand and respect the need of good quality while keeping our consumers economically unchallenged. In these tough economic times, spending to put back into our economy is encouraged. Brazilian Bezel swimwear understands the importance of quality; therefore we do not outsource production of our garments. We are 100% manufactured in the USA. Our team and resources consist of qualified and committed individuals who execute all final production, making Brazilian Bezel Swimwear a success every step of the way.

Planning Ahead

High Fashion in the Urban Market Symposium – December 5, 2009 8am-6pm
I am on a mission to establish a network of high fashion urban designers that are dedicated to the true art of couture and the art of clean, imaginative, and well-executed fashion design. On December 5, 2009, join me and special guests as we engage in workshops, panel discussions, fashion shows, and an open market dedicated to high fashion in the urban market. The urban community holds a strong hand in the buying power of the fashion market, and far too often the work of urban designers is the last-shopped and less known to the urban consumer base. Join cgandsy on December 5, 2009 to divulge in a day dedicated to urban fashion. Interested in participating in the show as a vendor, guest panelist, or purchasing an advertising space in the cgandsy Fashion Chronicles? Contact me today at christopher@cgandsy.com.

Summer is quickly approaching and I know everyone has their date book out to plan every minute of it. Put that planner up and join me and some close friends at Friday Night in the Heights every Friday night from 9pm-2am. There will be amazing live music from independent artist in the garden, fine art from some local favorites, plenty of drinks and DJ Kumba spinning all of your favorite tunes. See you at the first one on June 12th.

Fashionable Mamas

I hear it all the time in my personal styling & shopping business (and at home. Many moms are feeling like since they’ve had children, they’ve just fallen to the bottom of the fashion totem pole right there with Keds, acid-wash jeans, and slap bracelets. Many cite changes in their bodies, having no time for themselves, or budget constraints brought on by the expenses of a growing family. I always say, “Well, what do you want to look like?” I receive a wide range of answers citing celebrities, other moms who seem to have found time in their busy schedule to keep up with their pre-baby regimen. The answer that I’ve never received is, “I want to look exactly how I look today.” And that’s the problem. Many moms are so wrapped up in their lives that they don’t ever pull over and examine the needs of the woman at the steering wheel. With my wife pulling my arm, I decided to create an opportunity for mamas to get their style just in time for summer.
